I have CELTA, DELTA & 10 years' experience. Currently finishing up an MA but won't have it in hand by start date. Considering applying for this:
10, 000 AED/month salary
55, 000 AED/year accommodation allowance
Return airfare, 2000 GBP relocation allowance
35 days hols
Not great I know, but is it reasonable? I'm a bit worried about that accommodation allowance, as I have a wife and child. Is it enough for a decent two-bedroom flat?
Thanks in advance,

This depends on where you are planning on moving to in the UAE. In Dubai, 55,000 might get you a one bedroom, but I have seen them for as high as 80,000. I haven't seen a two bedroom in any decent area for under 65,000 and that was a year ago when I was looking, and prices are going up. If you are looking at Ras al Khaimah or Fujeirah then that might be enough.
As for 10,000 a month, this is what I make as a single hire with no dependents at an international school. It could be enough for a family, depending on how you live, but I doubt that you would be able to save anything.
The holiday time isn't that great either. Is it 35 days or 35 workdays? |

That's your problem right there. I wouldn't take that deal, but then I have an MA in hand.
You can live on that much, but you won't save anything. You'll be dipping into your salary to pay rent. |

Probably just as well. I hope you get something better before too long. |

Where are applying Chris? Most places have yearly increments and already said; 55k will get you a nice 2 b/room appartment in places such as RAK and Fuj. |
