I am currently midway through conducting speaking tests of 250 ten year old primary school students.
Present Simple, Future Simple, Past Simple, Time, Comparatives and Superlatives.
After the first 20 tests per day I can feel my patience and ability for my brain to function wavering. After doing 40 a day I am close to mental mogadonism and at the end of the day after 60 tests I am so close to mental collapse I am reciting Nursery rhymes, quoting George Bush and slapping the side of my head with a dead kipper simultaneously!

I walk home from school trancelike in the middle of the road, clutching a bottle of water whilst motorbikes swerve around me and Traffic policemen swear at me.....I am a mess and something needs to be done to reset my brain so I can join the human race for the evening !!

What can I do..?What can I take..? Is there any remedy to stem the flow of my brain downwards onto an unseemly pile of gooey, pink mess on the floor!!

Please help....

your Sir Algernon Friutbat Dingwhip III, BA, MRC, TESCO, KFC, British Rail .

I seem to remember someone suggesting the perfect rehabilitation centre. I believe it was the Holborn London Underground station on the Central and Piccadilly lines. Sound familiar? Ahhh.... those chocolate dispenser machines!!!!

Two options:

You need to get some perspective. Try to separate. Keep good notes on the exams, then let it go when you walk away. Read light novels, drink a nice camomile tea...now don't you feel better?

If this doesn't work, you might consider smoking a big fat *BEEP* if you're so inclined.

Regards,

Justin

250 kiddies?!?!? Yikes! I had about 40 well-mannered, cheery university students to give oral exams to yesterday, and by the end of the evening all I could think about was that bottle of wine waiting for me at home.

Red Bull and sour skittles for breakfast, Pespsi and chocolate for lunch, Chinese take-out and three bottles of beer for dinner.

Stay on this diet for a week and all of your work will be done. Careful, it's addictive!

Thankyou everybody for the kind help...so as not to offend anybody by leaving them out I tried every single suggestion last night and it really did the trick!!!I was on the verge of buying a DVD of Mariah Carey's greatest hits but you guys saved me from committing this heinous cultural crime!!
Yesterday was the real brainbasher....5 consecutive classes and about 70+ tests conducted...Seems all my boys watch cartoons of an evening and eat fried rice or spaghetti for their dinner!!! Shocked

Anyway they all passed....due in no small measure to the fact that it's a private school and we have no choice but TO pass every student.....even if his knowledge of English rivals my knowledge of Tongan cinema!!!
