Can anyone recommend a good gym, preferably near Once or Plaza de Mayo? Thanks. |

I like Megatlon, a few blocks from Plaza de Mayo. My membership was 250 pesos for three months, they have a pool, and they offer free 15-minute massages...It's on Reconquista, in the 300s. Good luck! |

Thanks Cryptolect. I guess most people dont work out here. Any other suggestions, preferably under 100 pesos a month? |

Which branch do you go to Attorney? They all seems to charge different rates (I called about 5 and none of them charged less than $120). Also, do you have to use a debit/credit card? |

Sports Club have a few around town. Mine's on Bartolome Mitre between Montevideo and Rodriguez Pena-it's an excellent gym with good cardio machines, weights, lots of classes and a really nice 25m pool. Not all Sports Clubs have the same facilities.
It costs me 60 pesos paying by direct debit from my bank account. If you just pay monthly it's more like 110 a month. I think you can pay for 6 months up front at the 60 peso rate but don't hold me to that. At this tariff there's a 120 pesos joining fee and 15 pesos for the ID card. Once that's out the way it works out very cheap for the facilities you get.
Megatlon is a generally better chain (as in the maintenance of the actual buildings is much better and they're cleaner) but it's more expensive. |

I ended up joining a gym in San Telmo for $51 the first month, 41 after. That includes the equipment but not the pool (they have 2). If I like it I might upgrade to the pool next month.
If anyone wants the details, pm me. |
