I love Thailand but there are 3 things missing :
(1) Walnuts (maybe the only nut to have the healthy omega-3 acid)
(2) Blueberries and
(3) Beer from the Phillipenes.! (much cleaner taste than Thai beer)
(3) is the most serious - I mean why is there so litele imported beer?
Sadly, even Korea wins on this one.
Sawadee gap! |

San Miguel - the stuff in Bangkok certainly isn't from Marbella. Plenty of German beers too. They've even got Asahi, unfortunately. |

All Three: Tops Supermarket, Central Festival Mall, Phuket. No problem.
But, I bet you can't find Frog Kebab back home! |

If you're in Bangkok,
you could also try Villa Market
for imported and hard-to-find goodies.
They now have 7 locations in Bangkok. Tel: 02 258 5072
The largest branch is located at 591/1 Sukhumvit 33.
Have you tried Blue Ice beer?
It's brewed by San Miguel.
And here's a link to Foodland:

In Bangkok you can probably find walnuts and blueberries at Villa or Foodland Supermarkets.
I just had a slice of blueberry cheesecake at Starbucks yesterday.
Most imported beers are probably available if you go to the right bar or speciality shop.
In most cases finding something is just a matter of investing the time and money necessary to find and purchase it, usually in Bangkok, Phuket or other major urban tourist area. |

| I think it was 75 baht/slice, not even sure. A bit pricey, yes - but I deserve it. |

I was visiting Bangkok three-four weeks ago. I went shopping at the Foodland across and down from Ramkamhaeng U. (on the boulevard of the same name). They had a freezer on one side near the back meat counter that had frozen bluebs, rasps, and strawbs, and all at reasonable prices. The rasps are especially good. |

But of course Blue Ice, Red Horse & San MIguel are now brewed in Thailand.
So are they classed as imports?
BTW the best San Miguel is not from Spain but Phillipines. |
