I'm interested to hear any experiences and success stories from people who have sat an interview for Peppy Kids Club. Were the expectations high? Was it stressful? Surprisingly relaxed?

Any comments (+ tips) would be highly appreciated.

I had my PKC interview at their Torrance office in CA. It was somewhat informal and unprofessional. I walked in and the lady showed me about a 5 min introduction video on their company, with a real-life lesson plan in a classroom while having me fill out a few documents. She then interviewed me by asking basic questions, such as "why I would like to go to Japan" and if I had any experience dealing with kids. Real simple and basic. At times I felt like I was talking to a wall, not much discussion nor challenging questions being asked.

However, take this with a grain of salt because I heard the Torrance office affiliates only work part-time. The office seemed rather messy and had incents burning inside too. Nonetheless, hope this helped, and good luck! Just look professional and be confident =).

Cheers very much for the response!

Were you offered any work? I'm hoping that it works out, but I also want to make sure that my safety is ensured and that the work is tolerable! Do you have any information on the agency in general? I'd really appreciate it!

From what I've heard, PKC is a respectable company although it falls under the "eikaiwa" category. I heard it has a high retention rate, a low turnover rate, and in general people seem to be satisfied with the workload and their working conditions.

I was actually referred to PKC from one of their supervisors (alum from my University) whereas he used to work at other eikaiwas. He talked highly of the company and recommended it over other places such as Nova.

I was actually offered a position with them, and I considered taking it, but the only thing is that it works mainly with children, anywhere from kindergarten to elementary school. I wasn't sure how I'd be able to handle it, because I've heard of harsh stories before.

I am now leaving in March to become an ALT with Interac. Best of luck with you.
