I have heard of many people having trouble in MISIONES...its so far away and laid back that there is no control and the inspectors have gonne nuts, they want bribe even when you havent faulted. Anyway...do the COLONIA (uruguay) trip...I think is better.
Cheers. |

Yes, I've also heard lots of bad reports about Misiones when it comes to getting that glorious stamp in your passport. I'd avoid it if you're only going to get a stamp. Go to Colonia ... it costs $75 pesos. It's a day trip. The city is beautiful. The beach is really nice. And you get 4 stamps in your passport. I can't wait to go back in three months ... this time for a few days on the beach. |

Ive been overstaying my visa since April and Im quite confident that if I cross the border to Chile and then cross back, then everything will be fine. (loads of people I know have done it without problems)
However, at the end of Feb Ill be taking some internal flights. Does anyone know if theyll check my visa for those? If they do, will they just let me pay the fine and continue on my way? |

they dont check your immigration status in domestic flights, they just check your identity.
good luck. |

|
|
so i know there's been a lot written on this topic and i've read through all of your answers, but i just want to be sure . . .
I bought a round trip ticket from the US to BsAs on Delta airlines, and am planning to stay for a while (over 3 months definitely), like most of us. When I booked my ticket through STA, the woman said that since I will be staying for longer than 3 months and don't have a Visa, in order to board the plane at LAX I will have to show proof of my transportation out of the country at the 3 month mark (plane/bus/boat ticket).
Is it true that I might not be let on the plane here in the US if I don't have proof of this other ticket?
If so, should I just buy a ticket on the Buquebus to Colonia NOW to play it safe?
thanks! |

having anything other than a plane ticket out of the country is a waste of time and money. check in staff will not accept anything but a plane ticket. no buses, no boats. nothing. i asked and i was told.
if you do have a problem, and it is definitely possible (i've had check in staff in 3 different countries F uck me about, the worst being those W ankface twats otherwise known as spaniards-don't get me started on those D ickheads-who almost refused to let me board despite me having argentine residency and a DNI) then make sure you have a credit card with credit on it and buy the most expensive 100% fully refundable ticket. make sure there's not a single penalty clause for cashing it in and then sort out the refund here in buenos aires.
argentine immigration will never, ever ask you for proof that you're going to leave the country. ever. |
