Just wanted to officially whine and complain about being single on V-Day for the first time in three years... while it does save money, it also makes it very hard to bear the inevitable avalanche of love-comedies on television. Here's hoping the next Single-Awareness Day is happier!

I certainly don't have too much of a reason to complain, but holidays seem to bring out the best or worst in everybody. I hope everyone else enjoyed their day! I just finished watching "Serendipity" w/Kate Beckinsale: wow... gotta' hand it to all the Brits on this forum... she's the best looking thing on the screen these days Very Happy Love that sexy accent!

went out last night to a Turkish restaurant north of Hackney Marshes. Bloody stupid idea: it took the best part of two hour to get there, and we didn't sit down till nearly ten. Absolutely heaving, packed cheek by jowl. Waiters buzzing round, doing that change-the-ashtrays-after-every-flick thing, and dumping down dubious meze after dubious meze; a tiny dance floor, and a guy playing his electronic organ; middle aged men with dodgy moustaches, smoking hell for leather, with an inability to slip their arms through their jacket sleeves; and some melancholy singer.

it made me feel very nostalgic. Rolling Eyes

Not too much of a deviation, is it? Not only did I get nothing from hubby, he took (and ate) the little chocolate heart given to me by my boss...

You mean now that I'm married I don't have to deal with this silly holiday anymore?! When's the cut-off? I'm afraid we may still fall into the blushing newlyweds category.

I've had so many years of being bitter about Valentine's Day (I think the only good ones were in elementary school when we made mailboxes out of shoeboxes and everyone in the class gave a Valentine to everyone else and my greatest worry was if there was any meaning behind the 'UR 2 COOL' pink chalky candy heart from Scott Shepard...). Now I find it really hard to be nice about it-- seems like an excuse to make people buy things, with stupid women on TV trying to trick their husbands into getting them presents. That 'Iyi Gl-ler' commercial nearly drove me mad!
