OH man I've only got 10 months to decide Rolling Eyes I'm planning on leaving good o'l Oz land in January and heading for China. I had thought to have a job all lined up but then after reading some posts on Dave's shudder to think what kind of appartment/contract I could get stuck with negotiating long distance Shocked

I had thought that North east China would be the place for me..... yes I am after the cold weather experience. I will look for a 6 month position first as I wont have my degree in my hands to go to China with so I figure 6 months and then see if a bit of experience, a degree and a TESOL cert will enhance the employment prospects a bit.

Has anyone thoughts on the differences between Sichuan and the North East??

When you get a job offer, make sure you get the email addresses of current and past teachers. If a school won't provide these, don't sign with them. If you do get the addresses, be sure to contact the teachers and ask lots of questions. Remember, just because a teacher loves a location and school, it doesn't mean you will too. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes.

Personally, I've been in Shenyang in Liaoning in the north east for over two years. I like it here but others hate the things I find the most enjoyable.

Know yourself first. Then ask.
