Finding a pushbike is eash and cheap. Quality is another matter. I have seen a couple of tourists on upper end bikes, but many of them are making the trip from Sgn to Hnội and brought them themselves.
However in HCMC if you go on Nguyễn Hue there are a couple of places that have parts and that sort of thing. Also, out by the airport - I don't remember the street name now - there is a street that has nothing but bicycles. With a little persistance you might stumble across something good. |

Xe Đạp Thể Thao at 160 V Thị Su advertises Shimano componentry and their highest end mountain Bike was a Raleigh. Tel: 820 2239 Cell: 090 370 7091. This one also appears to be the place to buy parts.
Chử Hng Xe Đạp at 148E V Thị Su had some fairly good looking road bikes.
Xe Đạp 152 at 148B V Thị Su Tel: 823 1580 had a Shimano Roadman, which appeared to be a fairly high end road bike and a Gitane ATV 250 for a mountain bike.
Xe Đạp Martin 107 was definitely the biggest shop at 107 V Thị Su. Tel: 820 3827 E-mail: [email protected]. |
