Had a discussion about names of students with a couple friends last night and had some very special ones come up.
Thought it might be interesting to compare and contrast.
Beats whinging and bitching about Taiwan all the time (naming no names)
I'll kick off with
Echo
Dinosaur
and
Fish
Confused

Well what about these Spock and YoYo.

You sometimes have to laugh and hope by the time that they get to University that they might have seen some sense.

Have fun

Ha, great idea for a thread...

I've had some great ones:

Happy
Champion
Jill (a girl)
Batman
Swallows (for a girl... I can only imagine the grief she would get if she moved to a Western country)

Dear Readers,

I'm glad to add a few:

Apple, Giordano, Wind, Sky, Minimum, Boss, Nehc (that's Chen in reverse), and Toyota.

What's wrong with Jill for a girl? That was my first girlfriend's name.

In defense of special names, I have one student to whom I gave the English name 'Happy' several years ago. Now, she's a bubbly eighth-grader, so I think the name may have helped her!!! (By the way, her Chinese name translates directly as 'seashell' ....go figure.)

Keep on posting!

I mean Jill for a boy... sorry!

I've been inspired to share a few more:

Eden (a boy)
Co Co (girl)
Johnson (a boy of course!)
Sky
Dammi
Hanson (boy)
Cheney (I didn't let him point his pen at other students, so he wouldn't hurt them... hahaha)

I have some beauties.

Golf,

Pentium,
Polo,
Baddy,
Coco,
Zed,

If I think hard enough I could come up with some more. I particularly liked Pentium though.

This is an improvement. Is it not? I wish I'd thought of it.
