So I'll jump into the ring too. When I saw the title of the post, I had little interest, so I ignored it. Then I saw that there was something going on by the number of responses; then I read the whole thing.
Personnally, I don't care whether or not y'all discuss sports here - my eyes don't combust when they read something inane about soccer. I move on. You guys here are multi-dimensional beings, and even though the raison d'etre ( pardon my french) of this forum is for things related to teaching English in Turkey, some of us have interests that overlap. I don't get the hostility towards the "celebrities". I think they have contributed immensely to this forum and they are, partly, the reason why I've kept returning.
