This may be a stupid question, but I heard that employees don't like to get messages from hotmail and may not open them. My problem is that I can't figure out how to insert images into Yahoo and I can't use Yahoo mail in outlook express unless I upgrade (which costs money). Hotmail works with outlook but I don't know if it's good.

Does anybody know of any email service that either works with outlook or lets you insert pictures into an email? If it's common knowledge around here that you shouldn't send a resume as an attachment, what service is everybody using? Am I over reacting? Is hotmail okay? Thanks a lot.

just send a email from hotmail with the subject saying TEFKL job resume (cv) or wotever. they prob dont like hotmail because its known for scam/junk emails, chain emails you get the idea.

Here's an easy solution; one which I use.

If you have a Yahoo account, just open a Yahoo Photo album,

upload your resume photos to that album, and then link to the album

within the body of your resume, rather than messing around with copy/paste/attach.

Works like a million bucks, and takes up virtually no space in the receiver's mailbox ! Very Happy

After you compose your online resume, click Save as a Draft -

and you can easily and quickly send it out again and again.

By saving your resume as a draft, it's also

easy and painless to make periodic updates.

I gave up on hard-copy resumes & attachments a long time ago.

Now ... If I do need a hard copy, I just print it out from the draft,

which is always up-to-date and accessible from any internet cafe.

I'm going to PM my resume to you so you can see how it looks.

Just promise me you won't hang it up in any public restrooms !

As a PM, the shorter line width may distort its appearance somewhat,

but it should give you a decent idea of what I'm trying to explain.

When you send it out as a regular e-mail, it looks great !

PS:

If you follow my suggestion, be sure to save your photo album

as a Public album - that is, not password protected,

so that anybody can open it.

Hope that helps ?

Gmail is starting to offer a chat program that works within the Web Browser. I'm guess I'm old enough to find that chat is awkward to use Embarassed But tweens seem to love chat, I'm always seeing either MSN or Yahoo Chat running on computer desktops.

I have about eighty Gmail invites left (You get 100 when you sign up) so feel free to ask me too!
I hate using Microsoft services, but I still do. sigh Rolling Eyes

Thanks a lot, guys! I'm going to try that Yahoo Photos method first. I think that will be all I need. Thank you again.

Off topic, I sent out a bunch of email a month ago with my resume as an attachment, I was wondering why nobody responded. I thought "Uh oh, it's pretty hard to get an ESL job." Then I realized what I did wrong and sent out my resume again, this time in the body of the text and I got two responses in less than an hour! Stupid me.
