Hello. Has anyone bought a car while in Argentina? I know most of you are in BA and it's not worth buying a car, but I'm thinking about going out of the area - any suggestions? Websites or places to look while in BA? Does anyone know of the legality of driving in Arg.? Thanks. |

I'm still waiting for my document, without which I cannot do much of anything, including getting a driver's license and registering a car. It's frustrating, but eventually this phase will be over soon. I recommend using the excellent system of private buses that go everwhere in this country, often in STYLE (really comfortable seats, whiskey, dinner, breakfast, movies). Try Crucero del Norte / Sur to Iguaz or Bariloche. You'll find you really don't need that vehicle here after all. |

Thanks for the clarification, Guille. I was hoping to join one of the 'plans' to get a new Fiat Uno, but they have consistently told me I needed a DNI. |

Do you really want to try driving? You don't make much teaching. Why gamble your money on a car when it is easy to get around. |
