NY Times Letter from Bangkok
I read this article recently and I was wondering if any of you might be able to comment on it or chip in a few thoughts. Specifically, is the night life scene really crumbling that much, and have any of you personally felt the heat of new regulations and enforcement?
I don't plan on being in Thailand smoking dope and partying at clubs every night til 5 AM, but I also don't want a have to worry about eating a poppy-seed muffin (a la the episode w/Elaine from Seinfeld) and having that turn into a Brokedown Palace sequel during my time there teaching.
What are all of your thoughts? |

When you say you're waiting and hoping for the "next world," you are referring to the next administration, right? Well hopefully those peaceful protests that were discussed in the other thread spur a peaceful revolution before I arrive.
Are the fun police really that bad? Can you still have a good time out without big brother spoiling it every time? |
