Hi James,
I'm not so sure about Lithuania and Latvia but Tallinn, Estonia is a possibility. There is an International House there who employ about 7 teachers on contract but i think this time of year they'll all be taken however if you're in Tallinn they'll probably be happy to meet you and maybe offer you some Individual classes on an hourly rate. Also there is another bigger school called ILS who are advertised on tefl.com, i once wrote to them but received no reply. I think the best thing for getting set up in Estonia and especially Tallinn is probably being there. Both these schools will probably require a CELTA or equivalent e.g Trinity cert. Try the book Teaching English Abroad by Susan Griffiths for any leads on Lativa or Lithuania. All the best. |

ILS in Tallinn are recruiting at the moment on tefl.com.
All three Baltic capitals now have IH schools - there might still be vacancies in IH Vilnius if you check their board. |

Hello,
I just got back from teaching for about a year in Vilnius. There are jobs in all three baltic capitals but you should probably physically go there to find the job. You will need a CELTA as well. Vilnius was a good place to live, I miss it sometimes but becuase of debt I couldn't stay.
good luck |

Vilnius is quite an interesting place, but the TEFL scene is still very much in emryo. International House is the biggest of all, but If I were you, I would go elsewhere, as the management can be difficult. From what I've heard, ILS is better. The nightlife in Vilnius is great, but the long, cold spells can really 'take it out of you.'
Tallinn isa bit more vibrant as it is close to Helsinki, so you get more tourists coming over. |

I lived in Tallinn for 4 months. It has a nice nightlife on the weekends. The weeknights are usually pretty calm. The Finns come over from Hesinki on the weekends to party. |
