hey, I have lived in Mexico for two years now and it never ceases to be an adventure. You'll eventually learn how to aim without a toilet seat (although I've had some embarrasing experiences practicing)

Mexican friends can help a lot but be careful. My best advice is never invest or loan money to anyone who can't pay it back. You'll both be unhappy and it is unfair to put someone in that position when there are cultural differences about the concept of time. Gringos want to be paid back by time certain. Mexicans intend to pay you back and they are sure they will. They just have a different sense of urgency about when.

I never paid $2K for the training school in Guadalajara, but I've seen both some very good and some very bad teachers come out of there. I've also seen some good teachers start without this training. You may want to try approaching a school on your own. Ask for advice in this forum because there are some very nasty as well as some very good schools in Mexico. Don't work free for Harmon Hall for three weeks for their "training"

Maybe you do need a change and an adventure to grow up. I took a chance at 54 and am now working for a school and a boss I like, I am making a good living between the school and more private students than I have time to teach. Good luck! [email protected]
