When I taught in Guadalajara, most of the teachers dressed very casually - some, much too casually and were always being reprimanded. Those were the teachers who thought they were on vacation! Women taught in casual summer clothing during the heat - sundresses, skirts and plain tee shirts, etc. I interviewed in dress pants and a long sleeved shirt that would have been appropriate for a corporate interview in the US. When it was cold, if I wore those pants with a turtleneck, people asked me why I was so dressed up!
