So how did you ppl enter TEFl world anywa, reasosn why ect. Desire to leave the rat race, travel the globe, make msot of your youth. Thats my reasons.

paulmanser im new to this site, but have just been scrolling down half in wonder half in laughter!
Firstly, who pays to work???? my qualifications are touching on the bare minimum but i applied and applied and applied and eventually someone employed me! no it wasn't that bad but just a few cv's sent to certain people...hey presto! i dont want to sound mean but will you need you mumma to go with you as well to wash your clothes (sorry)
Secondly, i hate this degrees in the '70s were harder than today bull! the only thing that's changed is the method (in 1953 Edmund Hilary scaled to the top of everest, today, a lot of people every week get there! it is smaller? No! so what's changed?)
And finally poles are smarter than the english......educated yes, but smarter! there are reasons why many poles go to university, and a lot of them don't apply in england (degree=job, avoiding military service etc) If you ever manage to have discussion classes with your students you'll see they ain't that smart!

Now its my turn.

First its a voluntary PROGRAM. For STDUENTS. Millions do ti so whats the biggy with this program with ELI?. Camp america is only 100 pounds cheaper thsn ELI 8 weeks in Poland yet camp america doe s12 hours a day of hard graft just so you can have 2 days off after 7 days of hard graft from 8am till 8pm everyday 7 days ina row.

Secondly, take my momma? lmao please you ahve no ide ahow independant I am or even who I am. Im aged 20 years from january 31st UK resident. Since the legal age of being 18 to go abroad on your own Ive been to France, Poland, Spain, USA by msyelf, not bad eh each with 3 months roughly at a time except Poland RIGHT now but I will be their at 3 motnhs come this July.

Thirdly, Whats so bad about having a GUARANTEED job by going through a legit company such as I TO I after hearing so many dodgy schols that hire ppl, qualified or not.

Sorry but im the one with the last laugh.

It is a one off summer rpogrma, msot liekly My LAST SPECIALLY AS I enter university this sept to do 3 year degree. The good thing is, is that I get to apply 2 years in advance, well 3 before th ejob starts.

If your prepared to diss the 8 week program then you should diss the conservation 4 weeks work whom stduents dish out 2000 for with other companies. Take a look at ANY company/organisation and their rpices and whom does it.

By the wya I dliek to ehar a better offer which offers 8 weeks experience abroa din Poland and if 660 would cover accommdoation/3 meals per day ect? and Valid school too.

Anyone whom says your better off not paying 660 whcih sint much, to me anyway for 8 weeks TEFL experience which I adore for in return doing nothing is a fool.

If my spelling was really the type fo spelling Id use form this baord to my past exams Id be brushing the streets but it wasnt. university student and proud.

I mentioned COT, pole obvious to ask questions about life style and travel experiences, typical questions sepcially under TEFL. Im not the one with the problem. Id be more than happy for a board *policeman* to check my messages ect.

Im just suggesting that until you a) lighten up a little b) show a bit of courtesy to those offering answers to your many, many questions and c) follow etiquette by typing properly, you really aren't encouraging people to help you in any way whatsoever. I'm in a rather pleasant mood actually as I Just found out that I can do a distant DEGREE BA HONS Pyschology studies with criminology course via ICS which the degree diploma will come from UEL (univesity of East London) IF my university experience this sept 06 turns sour and have to leave for any reason. Beats waiting a whole year just to do A course.

It is legit anyway as checked with British council and University of east london themselves but I HOPE it does not come to that this sept and onwards from then.

No worries Paul. For some reason this forum attracts people who wear their TEFL job like a badge.

If they can't understand the way you write they shouldn't be teaching English.

Unfortunately though you're sure to meet a lot more in Poland. They've always reminded me of Polish teachers who want to look down at new FTs thinking that they don't know grammar.

It's pitiful really, but that's the way it is.

I actually had someone tell me that he was trying to preserve the English language and that he had the the right to because his father was an English teacher.

To which I say, "You can spell Scissors 480 ways!!!"
