I met my ex-Polish wife in England in 96 and then taught in Poland for a long time, having previously taught as a qualified teacher in the Czech Republic.
It seems to me that the only reason for most of the male teachers,(especially the Americans), on this board wanting to come to Poland is to find a wife or 'ball and chain'.
I can't believe that Polish women are still being fooled by the typical TEFL teacher you find over here:typically, the ELT practitioner got a 2:2 in History and Media Studies or Politics, flunked a load of dead end jobs and was useless with the girls until he came to Poland. Here he re-invented himself as a former journalist,(he wrote for the school magazine),on a mission to 'travel and experience new cultures'.His alcoholism is overlooked 'cos he's a great guy 'who just loves to party'....and so is his ability to teach.A few years down the line, he's hooked up with a beauty way out of his league, stays a while and then becomes one of those annoying guru- barfly- posters, who thinks he's right all of the time whenever Poland is mentioned .He then starts having thread vendettas, re-confirming his initial status as a loser.
Sad but seen too often.

oh indeed indeed....although you seem to be so full of rhetoric that....one wonders whether....
without a doubt that happens a lot. But at the risk of answering a rhetorical question unnecessarily (!), I love Poland, am by no means blind to the general and ubiquitous beauty of the girls, yet came here -of all places -when I'd made the decision to be celibate for a length of time...friends who have visited indeed think I'm either crazy or deeply masochistic. Neither is true.
I'm not saying such is common, as you point out the opposite is more likely....but our numbers are growing.
I mean, look at how thety age. Not good....
Oh, and I do like teaching....

*ooof* I know a few profile who hit that perfectly. It's why I try to avoid the regular ex-pat hangouts in Warsaw...
Then again, I'm an ex-(trainee) journalist...

he's hooked up with a beauty way out of his league,

Thats exactly what ahppend with this polish girl at camp america with some brit guy whos been at that camp for 5 straight years every summer n shes been there twice.

Nobody could believe that such a heaven looking, bueatiful girl could date such a disaster, ugliest guy on cmapa nd msot thickest, cockiest where she was the msot innocent.

Opposite attracts.

With polish girls after english/american men its got to be the fact of a FOREIGNER and from a different country, creates great interest with diff accent ect. plus msot have above the polish wgae jobs so....... those r the only 2 reasosn if i were to guess.

i dont get the thing with english/american guys going over to find a polish wife/girlfriend?
Maybe im blind, or i just havent seen the, but could someone tell me where all these beautiful polish girls are? i mean a lot of thema are pretty, but beautiful????
I understand that one man's poison is another's wine, but in the few months ive been here i havent seen one stunner, and the girls i have met and got to know all seem to be the lapdog type!
this maybeis a little nasty, and i dont want to sound cruel...but that's how i see it! polish girls in bed are very passive....or maybe i just like the bite, animal like qualities of the latinas!
so pretty, yes, beautiful, questionable! and why do they go with weird, ugly yanks/english/canadian guys? it's cool! money! something different! lacks commitment! they are bored with the alpha male population of their home country!

Maybe you should try the ones which you don't need to pay first.

Are you talking about yourself Biff?

In psychology this is known as tranference.

Don't mean to take the piss mate, but you do come on here a lot complaining about FTs with Polish birds.

What's up with the green eyed monster? I mean if a fellow English speaking citizen is having a good time because he's surrounded ladies who have class then what's the problem?

You know as well as I do that most Polish women are much more feminine than the ladies back at home. I don't know about you but I like a feminine lady.

I think there is something to this.

I don't mean to bash Polish men, but I have yet to ever see one try a pick up line (chat up line for you British types). Even in situations where they obviously would like to meet the lady they shy away.

Now shyness is okay when you're a child but when you're an adult it can keep you away from all kinds of opportunities.

I can remember a friend of mine got himself a Polish girl simply by walking up to her in a bar, looking directly at her and talking to her.

She was so impressed that a man could be so confident that she liked him from the start. Who can blame her? A lady wants a man who believes in himself and is in control

I don't understand why you're complaining Biff. Maybe you've been in Poland way too long. Afterall a few days ago you just said this.

As for the loser/stunning girlfriend jibe...there was actually an article about that in the Guardian a while back.I think anyone who's been here more than a few months can't fail to be astounded by the Delboy dates Keira Knightly phenomenon.I'm not complaining.ha ha.

Good times.

How a message board descends so rapidly...

transference....projection..... survival strategy....you all seem rife with it..and why not...

and if femininity often requires a conditioned self-perception as potential or actual property....then I'll pass. Undoubtedly, this too is common in Poland, much as I love it...

now play fair people.
