Since there seems a discrepancy or three here, I felt compelled to share. This is the PM effort I received when I posted asking for the website. Why isn't something being done about this guy? What's this "we" stuff. CWC do you have a school director in your pocket or are you just happy to see me????

The email address he gives me today for his Director is different or am I seeing things? Begone, off with your head, internet troll, cheesy school owner with mouse in your pocket. Yeah, I'll get right onto sending this freak my resume. Blimey!

Lilli, Our schools name is Colegio Americano Gipsy. We are a prestigious private K-12 located in Cuidad del Carmen, Campeche. We have been in business for 12 years. We are academically ranked #1 in the state and #34 in the entire country. We have filled our ESL positions for 2006-07 but we would be happy to answer any and all of your questions. We have a resume bank and would be happy to add yours. Our website is under construction. You can respond to me at [email protected] or if you speak/write Spanish, you can contact our owner directly at [email protected] . We are always interested in speaking with teachers as we are expanding. Thank you for your interest, cwc

cwc did say the website was under construction, I mean, give him a break about the website already! That area does have quite a bit of oil money coming in, so its entirely possible that wages and benefits are very good in "Carmen's City."
cwc, I would think that your school has a lot of students that come from other parts of Mexico, perhaps even a lot of international students? Could you tell us (again perhaps) how much is taught in Spanish and how much in English at Colegio Americano Gipsy?

cwc, if you want to send a message to the director of my school, just go below my post to where it says PM. Click, type and send. I will get it, just as I have gotten all your others.

Life is funny, isn't it? You spent all that time in school for a double Masters, and end up at the bottom of the food chain, answering to losers, like me. Must be that winning personality that keeps you stuck in the same job for so many years. Makes you wonder who the real loser is.

Oil certainly must be a facotr in teaching round your neck pf the woods. 60 bucks a barrel will do that.

In DF, the central valley, and the west coast, I don't think oil has been much of a reason for English classes. Here, the reasons are more spread out across a number of industries. In DF, the insurance and financial sectors lead the way.

My brother in-law is in now based in Campeche, working on communications systems for rigs in the gulf.

I certainly don't doubt the giddy amount of work and money that's available there. My brother-in-law, who is Mexican, got his job in a sub-contract offered by a Canadian company working the oil trade out there. He laughs noting that the Canadian company is offering more compensation for communication systems experts than what Pemex or local contractors offer.

You said you are working on a bid. Does that mean you're putting in a lot of unpaid time awaiting the outcome of the bid offer? Is there a lot of competition?
