|
|
Hi,
Well, she's 19, and she's Thai. I met her last week in Phuket and I'm in love!
We want to spend the rest of our lives together.
My question is: Can I get her a VISA?
I'm pretty sure she doesn't have enough money to do all the paper work or to pay for his flights, etc. (I'm paying for her English lessons right now at an EFL school in Phuket and I will pay for any other expenses).
Also, do you think that she'll fit in? I live in Tokyo and I"m hoping that we can meet other lady boys and such in Toky - where are the hot spots?
I don't want to teach in Thailand as I have a good position in Tokyo.
I cant quit her - so, I need to make this work.
Thanks in advance for any info! |

Are same-sex marriages legally recognized/performed in Japan? If not, I think your "lady-friend" (and you) are out of luck.
PS. I've met and married a TROLL while on a cyber-holiday. Can I claim my troll as a virtual-dependent? |

Is this person a "he" or a "she"? If they are physiologically and biologically male you would need to marry "him" and get a dependent visa.
They can not come on your visa if you are both single.
Same-sex marriages are not legally recognised in Japan. You can live together (I have met lesbian couples here) but not as a married couple under the law. |

I have a friend at the Thai Embassy.
I sent you a PM.
If you are Japanese, you may be able to adopt her, believe it or not. |

Have you ever picked a beautiful flower and tried to plant it in your garden? |

Sorry to burst your bubble but....
You met 'her' last week and you are in love. Boyoboyoboyoboy man have I heard this a thousand freaking times (with all sexes) and very rarely does it work. Here are some real world questions you need to ask yourself.
1. How many other 'boyfriends' does this person have? How do you know this?
2. What do they do (work wise)? What is the level of thier education? Shaking their ass in a bar does not qualify them for much in the real world.
In the end the visa situation is going to be incredibly hard (Even with an army of friends in the Thai Embassy). The best you can hope for is a 3 month tourist visa which they will need to show -evidence of employment, or evidence that they are a student enrolled in an institute, evidence that they have the funds to support themselves for the period they are here (we are talking millions of yen), return air tickets, etc etc and even if they get the visa it has been known for the immigration in Japan to refuse entry.
My suggestion?
Put your wanger back in your pants and start having a cold hard look at this 'relationship'. |

I will say that getting an entertainment visa is getting harder.
The police can and do check up on places.
For gay nightlife, Shinjuku is the place to be (Kabukicho, Golden Gai, and nishi Shinjuku). |

I fell in love on my way to work one morning three years ago. Coming out of Shibuya Station, I saw the love of my life in the crowd of commuters.
Although I'm shy, I worked up the nerve to say hello and we took photos of each other in front of Hachiko. Since that fateful autumn morning, we've been truly and madly in love.
When people ask us how we met, I just say Hachiko brought us together. |

Don't get me wrong, I fell head over heels for my wife at a party. Didn't get up the nerve to approach her and then just happened to go to a film festival with a mutual friend who introduced us. I still have the tickets.
But having lived in Thailand for 10 years and lived with Thais since I was 18 I still cringe whenever I hear some guy say "I met a girl last week and I'm in love!!!" In variably they have no idea what hit them, so sometime later after a great deal of money, emotional investment and the rest they are left wondering why they were so stupid. I know I was (slightly different circumstances but still same result).
Here is a bit of background every year thousands of poor Thai guys and girls of whatever sexual orientation (and little sexual experience) with limited opportunies are enticed to places like Phuket, Pattaya, Bangkok, and Chiang Mai with the promise of making very good money, very quickly. For young transvestites its also a way to make the money for thier operation. Unfortunately it is an explotative situation from both sides. The western men use their money and promise of a ticket out to get a good time, the locals use all thier youth and charm to gain the maximum amount of money and possibility of getting out they can. It's a numbers game as well, the more boyfriends an operator has then the greater the rewards.
My Thai wife agrees. |

I have a similar question about my Kiwi friend, Geoff. He also has a similar predicament as he wants to come to Japan to teach and he fell in love after spotting the love of his life in a field in NZ last week. What's the situation in Japan re quarantine, rabies checks, availability of shearers for a hair cut etc?
Let me know and I'll pass the info on to Geoff.
Cheers
Baa bye for now. |
