One thing to clarify cwc. You certainly are a *beep* in here... and I would hope that isn't the case in the real world. But, maliciously flamebroiling someone through their job...that's wrong, no matter who does it. |

First of all, I think it is so sad and ridiculous that soooo often in forums, people ask serious questions that result in pages and pages of arguements. Like life, there are always two sides to every story and not one answer can satisfy everyone. As ESL teachers are we not suppose to be open minded and flexible. Really, I am so tired of reading all the bickering that in the end, have nothing to do with the question. Open a wrestling thread and go it once and for all. Then please move on.
Back to the question which was about TeacherMEXconnect and the comment

| That she was offered a job at $7000 pesos per month and not $8??? That is kind of picky I think to say the least. By the way $7 in Mexico is not that bad!! |
Well to clarify, it was not the difference of 1000 pesos it was the fact that I am experienced and qualified and before sending in the money, I specifically stated that I would not accept an entry level position with this low pay. I was assured that there were positions, not only in Mexico, but in Spain and Chile that would match my qualifications and salary expectations. After having to emailing the schools myself, my only offers were the ones I stressed I was not looking for. Then I was told to take it or leave it. |

I see they are now doing TEFL courses, but you have to write for details. There is a cartoon woman that speaks to you with a lisp when you click on one of their pages. When she finishes talking, move your curser and make her eyes follow you around. Funny!
Taurus, one thing that calls attention is that the person posting as a new reader and happily placed teacher seems to think you are a "she". Taurus is just a girly kind of name I guess but I thought you were a guy all this time. |

Sorry, finger didn't hit an "h" in one of the words. Have to live with looking like an idiot but don't have to act like one. Is there anyone actually from TMC that is willing to speak for themselves here, or is that to strange to expect? |

| I received an unsigned email today strongly warning that I should lay off someone's staff. I am assuming it's from TMC or someone related given the nature of this thread, but since it's unsigned, it might not be. You could try writing them back at [email protected] to ask. If it's not from TMC, I apologize and retract, but it is yet another bizarre email I've received in the last week. |

I read this old thread and thought you were a bit hard on Samantha.
But it is all starting to make sense. I had sent you, as an experienced ESL teacher here in Mexico, a pm, soliciting a little assistance on where and how to secure employment. I have what I consider great credentials. You never did return my pm. Makes me think that you didn't want one with my credentials homing in on territory that you were marking out for some of your recruits. It's all beginning to make sense now. Thanks, Samantha, for this info. Tarheel13 |

I was, and I think Samantha and I are past all that. We're two equally suspicious people I think sometimes.
Tarheel I didn't see a PM from you...I haven't been posting much here over the last few months though. |
