Hey I just moved from here from Brazil. I'm finding this place a little cold and I don't just mean the weather. I hear there are supposed to be alot of Brazillians around, but where do they hangout? If anyone here is or knows of a Gringo that has taught in any south/central american country, please tell them to get in touch with me for a brahma or whatever it is they drink here.

Hey, I'm a gringa!

I've lived in Chile, and have lived and breathed Latin America my entire adult life. I know some Portuguese - I can read it pretty well and love to hear it - and a whole lot of Spanish.

Where exactly are you living? Did you know that there is a huge Brazilian community in and around Kani City, in Gifu prefecture? Maybe that's not the only one, but I just discovered that a few weeks ago. I'll be living sort of in that area... next week.

pm me if you want!

Let us know where in Japan you are -- that may help us give you some info about your local Brazillian community.

Don't worry -- sometimes it takes a little while to figure out how and where to find the people and places you want to hang out.

The quickest/easiest way, is if your city/town has an International Centre, go there and ask where the nearest Brazillian supermarket is. If you can find out that much, you can probably get in touch with others quite easily from there.

Good luck!
