On average how far in advance does one have to book a TEFL course to get a seat. I've seen a number of schools that say, sign up ASAP slots are filling up quick, while at the same time they often say, stop by and sit in on one of our classes and compare us with the rest before you make a decision.

OK, so can you really sit in on classes and compare before making a decision or do you really have to book a class months in advance?

TEFL International and the ECC Celta certainly do fill up, although TI has other branches, and they're likely to have something available somewhere (I applied for Ban Phe in Thailand, and was offered Zhuhai in China!).

Text and Talk have some pretty big classes, so if they do have a limit on students it's a rather high one. Again, they have various branches. So if I had my heart set on a specific location with a specific provider other than TNT, I would book ahead. Otherwise, no.

Actually I think T&T are actually smaller classes than TEFL Int where 20 plus is not uncommon from what I've read.

Most other than the CELTA won't be filled (although they might say they are) so ask to observe etc. before payment is to be made.
