At the risk of being sanctioned by the moderators of this forum, I wish to pose the following question:
Why didn't the former MLI administration take steps to assume any sort of responsibility to ensure the correct payment of final settlements for the MLI teachers?
It has now taken 7 months + and in many cases, it has been done incorrectly!

Considering all the complaints that were posted here about their lack of ability for the last couple years, why is this a surprise? Isn't it more of a continuation of the same problem?

If you are referring to the military, the same as in a previous debacle in the mid-90's, a court case is probably required to get paid. In that case the management company ran off with all the money leaving the teachers all still working and unpaid... and getting evicted for unpaid rent. It took years in court before the military agreed to pay the teachers their back pay.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. I thought the MLI was a great place to work, and the fellows at GHQ were as fine a bunch of people as you'd ever want to meet. They gave me more money than I had coming, and I didn't have to wait seven months to get it.

I think there must be some disgruntled ex-employees out there. Maybe they have personal problems.

What I miss most about the MLI are the polite, refined, hard-working students, the top-notch coordinators, and that man from New Jersey with the wonderful sense of humor and keen appreciation of his workers. Working under such a stimulating and inspiring leadership team was a turning point in my life. Everyone should have the opportunity to work in such a caring, supportive environment.

Does anybody have the home addresses of the former MLI coordinators? I have a baseball bat I'd really, really like to return to the guy from Vancouver.[/b]

It seems that many former MLI faculty, coordinators and top tier architects now work for ADNOC's technical institute.

Compared to ATI in the pre-MLI refugee days, the institute is supposed to have improved its standards on all fronts as a result of the absorbtion of MLI staff and standards.

"Top tier architects"? You mean they're using Hot Potatoes there now?

The greatest MLI question of all, Bindair, is why you, after being gone from MLI for nearly a year, are still obsessed with the place. MLI no longer exists. Why can't you just get on with your life? In the short time you were here, you developed a reputation for being an arrogant know-it-all who was never satisfied and never stopped complaining.

You were unpopular here, and youre probably just as unpopular at ABP in Qatar. When you left there was a collective sigh of relief. Good riddance was the consensus among your former colleagues. We all know who you are, and no doubt everyone at ABP knows who you are too. Why are you so determined to further cement your reputation for being a whiner and a crybaby?

Your relentless postings about MLI reveal a lot more about you than MLI.

Yep, closure is what's needed. The trouble is that some people want the final paycheck first.

Antonia ... try pressing the 'funny' button on the top right corner of the icon options .... it helps petty outbursts seem so much less distasteful ...

I don't know who he is. As far as I know, he could be one of any number of people-myself included.
As far as the MLI is concerned, I could deal with the lack of professionalism. It was the malice and mendacity of many of our colleagues and esteemed academic leaders that finally did me in.
The MLI might be gone, but the guys who ran the place are still out there-on their way to even greater triumphs.
Watch out!
