Mike,(I tried to email you, but no luck it was sent back.)
Teaching Experience does help. You will need a ESL
certificate such as TEFL or CELTA. Any equivalent
Cert.. will suffice. Money is another issue. It all
depends where you get your job. I work at Idioma
Internacional, I make enough to survive and average
around 20 hours per week.(I travel and surf on the
weekends or free days) There are many perks as well. I
am a certified high school teacher from Illinois and
this has been the best experience of my life. I plan
on staying for a long time, or at least until I'm
bilingual. Your only hope, in terms of working, is
teaching English. Any other jobs normally require
residency or work visa(which our company requires, but helps you obtain). The standard of living is much
lower, so supporting yourself is a reality. I made
everything happen because I followed my goals.
Anything is possible with a little integrity,
motivation and insight. The experience I'm building
here will hopefully pay dividends in the long run,
plus its a fucking blast(the women alone, are worth
it.) June is a great time to get hired for teaching.
Try my company, www.idiomacr.com, the people are professional and good hearted. The atmosphere is unsurpassable. Good Luck.
