Hey all
I wonder if you can help me. Being a woman of average size (size undisclosed) I find it difficult to find good places to shop for clothes here in Jakarta. Most Indonesian women seem to be several sizes smaller than me
Where would you consider to be the best places for me to find reasonable-sized clothes at reasonable prices |

As a tall, overweight male I sympathise. From female friends I understand major problem for women is different cut as much as difficulties finding sensible sizes - trouser thighs are too tight and bust way too small in most clothing.
Not the cheapest solution - but effective - is to trawl around the bigger stores in Mal Taman Anggrek. Lots of western sizes there. Alternatively, try factory outlet shopping in Bandung but this is time consuming and I really can't be a.rsed with it. |

Or just do what I do and have all you clothes made for you. I can point you in the direction of a good tailor if you like. I can quite confidently claim to be the largest person on these forums (probably in Jakarta) and he does a great job on my stuff. Unlike many western tailors, ones here seem to do men's and women's clothes. |

Hey any girls:
Would you happen to know of any good places to get a pedicure? I'm new to Jakarta and looking round for a regular salon. I also have a craving for Slim Jims a pal in the States recommended Kemang area? she seemed to think that was the place for imported food goodies. Is Kemang in the center of Jakarta.
I refused an offer for English First Sunter the Head Teacher seemed an ok guy but I heard negative things re this school on different forums.
Thanks everybody. |
