Good day all,

I'm thinking about accepting a position in Nagoya. Any thoughts about the city in terms of cost, nightlife, scenery, etc., basically any opinions you have I would love to hear'em. Also, how does Nagoya stack up against Osaka and Tokyo?

Thanks

One can not compare Nagoya to either Tokyo or Osaka. Nagoya is a bunch of small towns to make the third largest city in Japan. Most people here have small town attitude, specially towards guijin.

The nightlife for a gujin in Nagoya is Sake! There are a few guijin bars to go to to socialize with open minded people. Sake is a fun place but too small, while Tokyo and Osaka have many places like Sake but larger!

I hope this helps! If not please ask specific questions!

Nagoya is a really nice place. People are a lot warmer than in Tokyo. If you prefer a smaller population, but still want to be out of the boonies, Nagoya is a good place to live. Tokyo, in all honesty, is hell. It gets old, fast.

Nagoya is a great city. Centrally located between kansai and kanto, with a beutiful international airport and a domestic airport it's accessible to everywhere. Good food, ok nightlife, and cost of living is cheaper. And there are some nice cultural and natural sites in the area.
