Elise9, i have friends who are concerned about giving their dogs raw eggs because of the salmonella risk, and they don't use raw eggs in their smoothies either. i DO give my dogs raw eggs and have for years with no problems; i'm careful to keep the eggs refrigerated, and i DO put a raw egg in my smoothies sometimes. we're all fine. the two times i've had food poisoning did not involve eggs or chicken -- one was at a restaurant, and one was with beef that was immediately frozen, was transported in a cooler with ice for 1-1/2 hours in a car, and was stored in a freezer until defrosted and baked right away.
re the rawhide chews, CDaniels and others, do be careful. they soak up saliva from the dog's mouth and throat and can swell up and block their throats so they can't breathe. i read about it a few years ago and stopped using them; then about a year ago, it happened to the dog of one of my neighbor's and thankfully she was able to pry it out of his throat before it was too late, and it scared the crud out of her -- she doesn't use them anymore
cheers,
Queenie |

If got two dogs and live in Mexico. One was a street dog that I addopted. I give them everything what they like to eat exept for chocalate. All natural things. If they like it they eat it if the dont they dont. This is what my dog probably did all his live. He looks really healthy and is the nicest dog I ever had. Folows me everywhere and as far as I know the only big sized dog that takes the bus here in Guadalajara.
If you ever like to take a dog in Mexico, take one from the street. They are the best dogs you can get and I think they appreciate you even more because the know what live is on the street. Another good thing is that they know the streets and I never need to put my dog on a leach.
