| Your best bet would be to do a market study in the area you are going to be doing business in, check out the other schools, and then the local regulations and what is involved with getting SEP accreditation. |

I operate a small school here out of necessity because local schools were not interested in hiring foriegn people to teach English. To market I went from hotel to restaurant to bar to nightclub marketing the value of English classes in increasing income and better job options. Many of my students are single moms so I arranged for a nanny during classes.I have attended a class at a competitors school as a guest.I plan on getting someone in there to videotape a lesson using a hidden cam.The guy I saw teach seemed only to be a few lessons ahead of his students. If I can get a videotape I'll carry the recording around on a few sales tours and show people how they can pay more and get less or pay less and get me.
Sounds dirty I know but business is business. |

| It sounds as if you have the beginnings of a good little enterprise going. You might however want to check the laws on the hidden camera, hidden recording issue. I have heard people say that it isn't legal to record conversations in Mexico without both parties consenting. The way the grapevine works here, it won't take long to get back to your competitors, so I would err on the side of caution being a foreigner. Good luck and I hope your venture flourishes. |

The advice is appreciated Samantha. However as long as it is not defaming
(showing pics of a guy with his novia to his espoza) the rules of this crazy frontera should allow it.The student doing the recording is by day a federale.Good friend to have in Mex,huh? |
