Hello!
I'm thinking of up and leaving for Spain, and would like some tips about job searching once there. I'm CELTA certified, with lots of experience , and I've an EU passport.
Where do I begin... what schools are regarded highly among students and teachers..I'm sure both for very different reasons, and which cities would serve me well as places to find work easily, as well as cheap hostel accomodation.
Lastly, when is the best time to go. When do ESL schools hire?
Thank you very much! |

You have a CELTA and a passport. Youll have no problems--especially if you go to Madrid. With your qualifications and experience, you should be able to find enough immediately. And having a passport opens the door for the better contracts. I would just show up with a few thousand and start cold calling from the yellow pages. You should have a full schedule by the end of the week if you come at the right time of year. |

It almost seems insulting! Coming on here like that and flaunting your CELTA and EU passport!!! The nerve!!!
I'd have to second what Axel said. If there are ideal circumstances to be in when contemplating living and working in Spain, you're in them.

Man,
You are SET. Where to do? Pick up the Pginas Amarillas (Yellow Pages) and look up academies. Take the highest bidder |

Okay, so what is the 'right time of year' and is the Madrid air pollution really that bad?
I have B.A., CELTA, 5 years experience, Canadian accent AND E.U. passport....how much can I get? Is the pay really that bad in Barcelona where the air is cleaner? |
