CONFLICT IS UNAVOIDABLE.
THE SOONER PEOPLE -- OF ANY RACE -- RECOGNIZE THIS FACT, THE SOONER THEY GROW UP. NEGOTIATON FOLLOWS.

Cafebleu I agree with you completely. Oishii, astsui, samui, o-kaeri, etc.

It's true about the internet anonymity but there are some males from a certain English speaking country which shall remain nameless who for me are the most impossible to get along with in person too. We English speakers can seem more forceful and opinionated than others. Speaking the same language and knowing the subtleties of the culture obviously give more detail and hence the chance to find more offense.

In Japan I got the guest treatment too so that made a difference. My boss treated me well but some(most) of the Japanese underlings didn't look so happy. Japan seems to be big on hierarchy thing as stated earlier. I wonder if anyone has any insights into the culture from the natives of their chosen land. Things not so obvious to outsiders.

And it's true that some could be taking out their frustrations here. I'm presently in the homeland so I should be more understanding of the problems one can face while abroad. It's true that you may not even realize your stress levels are rising. I decided that if your stress/anger/depression level was taking over more than 50% of the time it was time to get out.

Suddenly Nomadder is struck by a bolt of memory:

'But wait wasn't it the shiiiiite treatment on the job in Canada that made me forsake my homeland and tunnel my way to the other side of the world in the first place??' Rolling Eyes

Far too many U.S.A. men are arrogant and rude, particularly those from the State of New York. Bad breeding and poor upbringing I suspect.
