here in korea the cramschools all have air conditioning. the classes are small at about eight kids. without air con teacher would be a sweat monster. are you sweat monsters? i'll be coming to china in four months, so i'm not yanking your chain; just looking out for number one walrus.

I was a sweat monster for years in Phnom Penh. A couple schools I taught in had aircon, but mostly the classrooms were hotboxes in which the temperature was normally 28 to 34 degrees Celsius. Kids often snoozed thru lessons. When the electricity failed and the wall fans stopped turning, school was out for the day. Hurrah! Very Happy

so far 100 views of this post re; aircon or not. been up almost two weeks. there IS NO AIR-CON in chinese private cram schools, every teacher in china knows that, and, sweating profusely, it's a touchy subject. so no-one has touched the keys about it.
this is MY GUESS. I HAVE to guess here, jeez...should have asked about SEX, or APHRODISIACS, but air-con? just bland, man.
so, 'do you have lighters in china, or do you just rub two sticks together?' no comment? thought so, sticks. at least tell me where i can put my stick notion while commenting about air conditioning, pleeeezeeee.

Kirk --The lighters here are classics. My favorites are the little red book and singing Chairman Mao lighters. (It sings more than it lights but it;s a cool gift.) Only seen em in the big cities though...As for air-con it seemed to me the only place in bloody China with AC was my room. If you are lucky you might get a fan...If you are coming in a few months you might want to post about heated classrooms....
