My school is looking to contract some teachers in Warsaw and I wonder if any of you have any advice on how to find teachers.

Are teachers based in Warsaw open to part-time contracts with most of the work being on Saturdays and Sundays (about 8 teaching hours a day)?

Would 50 PLN for 45 minutes before tax be a tempting offer?

Is there a good place to advertise for such teachers?

For those of you who run your own schools: do you contract teachers for part-time work, if so any advice?

Our HQ is in London but we have a branch in Katowice. The teacher will be contracted to work in premises we hire in the centre of Warsaw. The work will be mainly exam preparation that we will train the teachers for.

Any feedback that doesn't berate me for being clueless would be appreciated.

Stephen

No 50PLN for 45 minutes before tax is not a tempting offer. There are schools which pay more than that after tax for work in the middle of week days.

A eight hour block is nice but that rate you're offering is what most schools would pay for six hour blocks on week day afternoons.

Alex,

Where would you look for jobs in Warsaw? What kind of offer would tempt you? Minimum?

I read Polang email group and the New Warsaw Express. There are job adverts there.

I'd be looking for a serious chunk of cash to work on Saturday and Sunday. In fact I'd be wanting well over 150PLN per 45 minutes because I really don't want to work at the weekend.
During the week I'm looking for at least 48PLN after tax for blocks of four hours and that's only if the school gives very minimal amounts of hassle. The best I'm making from schools now is 58PLN net per 45 minutes (couple of blocks which are in the middle of the day).

Thanks for that reply.

I guess we won't be interesting you in any work but it's good to get an idea of what an experienced teacher might expect.

I'll follow up your suggestion for advertising jobs.
