There's only one real problem with China: not enough time and money to explore it.

Hey, Naiomi,

Just seen this post and you might already be here (should have checked those dates I expect)

I've just arrived in China and am currently undergoing a week of very useful training. I'm qualified already, but half of the day is spent on covering the officialdom and regulations, school expectations and ways to make your life easier. It is incredibly useful.

Obviously I doubt you'll be able to do a course like this yourself unless it is already set up for you. However, I just ran into a lady today who has spent a miserable 5 months here on her own. What was really, really apparent though was that she wasn't asking the questions and she wasn't accpeting advice when it was given. She was ploughing a very lonely furrow and wondered why she was getting it all wrong.

The fact that you're already on here shows that you've basically got things sussed. Ask and find out from others.

Have a few allies around and you can deal with any frustrations that may come your way so that you can then enjoy all the great things about the place you've come to.

All the best

Russell

PS I've just re-read this and I think this message might come across as really patronising. Especially as I've only been here a week! But I think the idea is basically correct!!
