Good morning! No, we didn't break any plates... Kinda hard to smash a plate on tatami, ne? But it really was a good time! Smile

Jim, I'm really eager to check out 'The Aegean' when I get to Japan. Does the place have a website?

Not that I'm aware. But just pick up virtually ANY copy of the Daily Yomiuri newspaper to see their ad. They run it either daily or pretty close to it.

When are you arriving?

I've got an interview with ECC on April 20th and if I'm accepted, it's anytime from late-August till November. That is when they're hiring for according to the email I got. Still got to get my application out to NOVA. Applied to GEOS and haven't heard from them yet.

I should add that I've listed June 30th as the day I wish to be in Japan on all of my applications, including the one I'm going to put into NOVA. However, it doesn't look like that'll happen at this point. Oh well, at least I communicated my intent. One can only try right? Right now, I'll be happy just to get in.

Update: Since it's almost the middle of April, I should put down July 15th just so I give them exactly three months to get everything done and get me over to Japan. Of course, if I'm successful with either ECC or GEOS, I will go with one of them even if it means coming over a bit later.

Saturday: Volunteering during the day and dinner at an Ethiopian restaurant in the evening www.ethiopianhouse.com. Since there's a gap between commitments, I'll get in some window shopping as I'll already be downtown.

You can only be here when immigration issues a visa and there is a job opening at a branch. Its not up to GEOS or ECC when you get a visa.

If you start setting deadlines for them to live up you may find you go to the back of the line. Tail wagging the dog here.

Paul, I get that. I'm only indicating dates because on ALL applications, they ALWAYS ask you when you want to come over. Of course I'm NOT going to make demands on them. No plans to shoot myself in the foot there. Not that foolish. If anything, I'll make it really clear that I'll go whenever the visa goes through AND when there's an opening at the branch.

Indubitably, that is to say they are but I have the annual health check in the early morning at school, followed by Cherry Blossom viewing, followed by basketball practice, followed by a tennis match.
My dearest friend here is an Ethiopian refugee, love the cuisine.

Enjoy,
