Yeah, I don't know how to find out about the legality of it though.

I mean, I guess since there isn't a large number of skaters in Japan, the laws in this regard may not have been tested much.

I imagine the laws might fall under the road rules, but I just went through driving school (the $3000 way, don't ask) and saw nothing about スケボウ.

I dunno, I might post over on the GRAVITY forums, there are a few Japanese dudes over there.

Meanwhile, some more good things about my station. The bike parking lot is never overcrowded and there are four trains an hour (both ways) even though it's nowhere!

Ouch on that driving school thing, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I imagine the fine for driving without is about the same, if not more.
Anyway, something to be said for the inaka, yeah, skating heaven.
Feeling like crap right now. Had the annual health check today and the combination of not eating, having to down 3 doses of who knows what, valium or something, and the astronaut-testing x-ray deal, then ate yesterday's Jalapeno cheese burger lunch and played basketball for 40 minutes. Sad thing is I have a tennis match at three and as much as I love tennis, have the feeling I am going to be ailing on the court. Probably a lot more information than anyone needs here but just felt compelled to share.

6810 you have yourself an awesome afternoon and an epic weekend,
s

Yawarakaijin,

trust me, the bathrooms aren`t that clean. My wife refuses to go to the female restroom because it is too dirty.
And last night, I did use the bathroom. There was puke in one sink and there was a guy puking into a toilet, while one guy was rubbing his back.
That was about 9:30

A lot of people leave garbage in the restroom.
Compared to Shinjuku or Machida, Sagami-Ono`s is "clean", but it is all relative.

Otherwise, I like the guy that sells cheap CDs. I have bought a few jazz ones from him. Shopping is convenient there because there is the supermarket and all the floors with restaurants and stores, like Uniqlo and the Daiso one, music store, etc.
The music is ok, too.
Don`t know why the guy wears the sheep`s head, though. I guess he is just trying to get customers to go to his izakaya or restaurant.

The Odakyu hotel is cool and they make good French food. In fact that is where I had my wedding reception.

They got a lotta taxis next to my station, and a nice pure fresh fruit juice shop. Real blueberry too. Not concentrates or frozen mixes either . They load the blender with a lot of fruit add a little sugar and soy milk, and then mix it it all up.

I've used four stations in the past year. I move a lot - six times in the past year.

Station 1:

+ An old wooden shack with broken windows and a small platform. I found it kind of charming.
+ Surrounded by rice fields at the foothills of the Tateyama Mountains.
+ Usually the same people riding the train when I did. I got to know some of them.
- One train per hour. No cabs nearby. Luckily I never missed the train.
- Supermarket across the street closed at 8 PM.
- No ninjas lurking in the rice fields.

Station 2:

+ Doutour and a supermarket.
+ 3 minute walk to my apartment.
+ On a clear day, I could get a good view of Mt. Fuji.
- Nothing really.

Station 3:

+ One stop from Ueno. Yamanote and Keihein-Tohoku Lines come through there all day.
+ A two minute walk to my apartment.
+ Morning wake up call.
- Morning wake up call when I had the day off.
- Really dirty. Lots of rats, which made their way into my ceiling.
- No elevator so a real hassle when I moved.

Station 4:
+ A subway, so much cleaner.
+ 3 minute walk from my house.
- Takes forever to get down to the platform.
- Expensive.
