Thanks. I could hardly hold the camera steady it was that cold.
The one below was taken last December from Puebla on the way to school. Seeing this was pretty awe-inspiring.

| What is it about Popo that it blows off in December? 2000, 2001, 2004, and now you say 2005? The one in 2000 was the biggest in 1200 years. We could see it from DF and it actually dropped some ash on us. I had only been here a month when it happened, standing on my downtown DF rooftop at night watching the lava. |

| I was told that it happens every December and this one was bang on. 6.45am 1st December. Certainly had the kids excited at school that morning. |

Guy,
In 2000 could you actually see lava flowing down the sides of El Popo from your rooftop in my old neighborhood? That would have made a spectacular photograph if you'd had a really looooong telephoto lens!

| It's 65 km away, to the south east. We could see the explosions of lava and the band of ash as it wrapped noth and east of DF. It was that big. |

I realize if I'm looking around in person for Teaching work in Mexico in the months of July and
August will schools/colleges and Universities still be open as the school year ends in June?
Will there be somebody in the office? Or is there a period where these places close down completely?
Thanks |

It varies from school to school. For example, at my university the teachers only get two week leave in late July, and even then there will be staff on-site to answer the phone. No one would be around who speaks any English, so you'd have to be able to hold the conversation in Spanish. |
