Hi everyone, I've been reading this forum for a while and researching, but I'd love to get someone's opinion on this:
There are people I could stay with for a while in Chile, and I really want to teach there after I finish my class. I'm getting Trinity certified and my course ends March 4th. I don't have teaching experience other than giving violin lessons.
Is it a bad idea to come down and start looking for a job the same week that school starts? And how important is experience for most employers?
Thanks for your help!

Are you coming to Santiago? I cant guarantee it, of course, but I think that in this city there are almost always possibilities of finding work. I came here in September didnt find it that too hard to fill my schedule. Even now, near the end of the school year, Ive seen teachers get newly hired. I think you chances would be really good in March. |

You can even teach violin lessons. There are relatively few teachers here. You can charge a minumum of $10,000 an hour, and up to $15,000+ depending on your experience. Just post an ad in the Mercurio when you come. |

Did you make it to Chile??
Have you heard of the Holistic Learning Centre in Quillota by any chance. If your wanting work they advertise and seem to go by personality and qualities rather than total teaching experience. i have just had an info pack from them but am waiting to hear from people on this site that have been there to get a few opinions about the school.
