In Chiang mai how much is
a food court plate of food, The 35bht fried rice BK type?
Meal in a basic restaurant you would eat with you mates?
The same meal in a place you would take a date?
Cinema?
Beer(large Singha say) in a popular bar with girls(ordinary)?
Same in bar with bar girls?
10 minute taxi ride........compared to BK?
Bowling per game?
Thinking about spending a month there in August just wondering what the budget should be.
Thanks |

Mate just head up there, it is the prince of cities you'll have a blast. Was there for 3 months 2004, 5 months 2005 and heading back in June. Your street vendor meals are 20 baht- top notch too.
The other stuff is obviously cheaper than Bangers. Rent a moped for 2000/2500 per month, its the only way to get around Chiangers. Songthews are 10 bht per ride. Massage 100baht per hour. Last year Khoa San road overnight bus 150bht to get up there.
Cheers,

Food court prices are about the same as BKK. 30baht a plate. The price of everthing has risen this past year because of oil prices. SongThaew are definately more than 10 baht, usually about 20. Restuarant prices vary of course but the middle of the road ones around around 200-250 baht a person. Places like the Riverside. Street food is cheap as stated before, but I usually go to the markets it's even cheaper. The prices of everything are a lot more expensive around the canal and night bazaar area. Anywhere the tourists are conjested. There is a new air con bus system here that is relatively cheap but takes forever to get anywhere.
The air is cleaner, there is less noise, and the rent is a lot cheaper. |
