Hi everyone,
I will be spending the summer in St. Petersburg doing an internship and elective course to complete my master's degree. I do not have any kind of TEFL certification, but I do have a bachelor's in journalism and international studies, and will be finished with master's at end of the summer.
I'd like to see if there are any opportunities to tutor, help with writing or even teach English on a part time or freelance basis, perhaps evenings and weekends. I have had experience tutoring foreign students in writing papers, and I currently work at a newspaper. Besides making some money while I am there, I would like to get some more teaching experience and see if it's something I might be interested in full-time when I complete my degree.
What do you experts think? Is this do-able? |

| Try getting in touch with the Лингвистический Центр or a school that runs conversation classes. I went to one of ALM's conversation classes yesterday and it would be pretty easy stuff for a beginner, you'd be there with a couple of experienced teachers in a zero-pressure atmosphere with plenty of support. Get in touch with Mike Sherman (American Language Master). |
