What is the requirement for visas if I want to stay more than one month in Thailand. What do I need to do, know. I don't know if this has been talked about in a prior thread, didn't see it so I'm asking again, thanks.

To answer the question properly, we need more info from you.

Are you planning to remain in Thailand on holiday, or look for a job?

It also helps to know your nationality and where you are now.

re: non-B visa and work permit

Do you have a university degree?

With that information, somebody

here will gladly supply the details!

i.e., staying for an extended holiday is a piece of cake;

getting a non-B and work permit is a bit more complicated.

Getting a Non-imm B is relatively easy depending on where you are (hint hint???) and has nowt to do with holding a degree.

As Kent says though your nationality and where you are will help a great deal.

^ hi kenkannif

I was thinking of the degree more

in terms of applying for a work permit. Wink

Although a degree is not an absolute prerequisite

for a work permit, it certainly makes it easier ...

if that's what the OP hand in mind.

Hi, sorry for the lack of info. I am a U.S. citizen currently residing in the U.S. and I have a college degree. I would like to stay in Thailand for 3 months maybe more. What visa requirements are there?

Kent,

Agreed! Wink

Get single or double tourist (or more if you can though a double would see you good for basically 6 months) Visa mate would be my advice. If you get a job they can convert or more likely send you out for a Non-imm B.

I'm from Canada and I don't have a degree. I wanna get a Non Imm B visa. Would I have to go to a Thai consulate in Canada and just apply for a Non Imm B visa? What documentation must I have with me? Also, once I enter Thailand with the Non Imm B visa, how would I get a work permit with no degree?

A job offer basically.....a degree is in no way needed to obtain a Non-imm B though.

You wouldn't get it yourself, your employer would need to contact the MoE and persuade them you're 'qualified' to teach. It's hard, but doable.
