hey all, i've been searching the forums but cant seem to find an answer to this question...

so is it possible to get a short-term english teaching job in july/august? Short term as in 3-4month contract?

also some suggestions as to where to teach would be interesting. I know chinas a massive place and with many places, but im not sure whether to go big city or smaller or...Ill be in dalian for a month beforehand so i will prob move somewhere else after. I'm 23 with a uni degree and a 120hour+ tesl cert. I'd like somewhere with good amenities, night life, sort of chilled out, and basically a good place to live, any ideas?

To be honest finding such a short time position might be a little difficult. There will be a few summer camp openings within the next few months, these usually span July and August. Good luck trying to find a good one though.

Your best bet is find short term work through an agency. Given the short time of your plans you shouldn't experience too many of the problems associated with an agent. A good one I would recomend is New Times International based in Shijiazhuang Hebei province. I spent more than a few months working through them and had no problems.

If you are looking for a city with a half decent night life, then try looking towards the larger cities. You would also want to take into account the hours you would be working. If you are to work weekends then your night life is going to be kinda boring, unless of course you intend to go to class half drunk.

In my opinion, the most relaxing part of China is Sichuan province. I can't stand the food but I wouldn't leave for anything.

Training centers tend to get very busy in the summer. You may be able to find short-term work at one of them. It would depend on how many hours you were willing to put in, they usually require at least 25 hours per week.
