Espresso Roast and Decaf Espresso Roast
This is the coffee that makes every caff latte we create rich and delicious. Caramelly and smooth, it has great balance and a lightly sweet finish. An intense and memorable coffee, the familiar aroma will permeate your kitchen and your senses.

We also offer an exceptional decaffeinated Espresso Roast.

Did You Know?
*
This remarkable blend of Latin American and Indonesian coffees was developed with a shot of espresso in mind. The Latin American beans give it soft acidity, the Indonesian beans impart depth and some spicy aroma, and the slightly darker roast gives it a caramelly sweetness. All of these attributes are intensified when this blend is used to make espresso.
*
Starbucks Espresso Roast is roasted somewhat darker than traditional Italian espresso and contains higher quality beans.
*
Our Espresso Roast is excellent drip-brewed too.

Tasting Recommendations:
Try Espresso Roast as both a shot of espresso and brewed in a coffee press. Note how the acidity, the tangy quality you feel in your mouth, is accentuated in the espresso shot, while the coffee press highlights the body, the lingering taste you feel on your tongue, imparted by the Indonesia coffees in the blend. This is one versatile coffee!

Similar Coffees:
If you like Espresso Roast, you might also enjoy Gold Coast Blend, Caff Verona, and GuatemalaAntigua.

Other flavors that compliment Espresso Roast:
Caramel, spices, chocolate, nuts

Caff Verona
A sultry coffee with a mellow, hearty soul created by blending the crisp acidity of medium-bodied Latin American coffees with the earthy flavor of Indonesian coffees. This marriage of smoky, sweet Italian Roast and robust, well-rounded Yukon Blend is simply made in heaven.

Did you know?
*
We originally blended this for a Seattle restaurant as the ideal dessert coffee. Because of its popularity, it was added to the regular Starbucks lineup.
*
Our Caff Verona is excellent brewed as a shot of espresso.
*
Origin, roast and blend are all highlighted in this perfect after-dinner coffee.

Tasting Recommendations:
Compare Caff Verona with Yukon Blend. Notice how certain flavor components of Yukon Blend are evident in Caff Verona, but none dominate.

Try Caff Verona with dark chocolate. Taste how the coffee's sturdy character stands up to the chocolate's intense flavor. Together they balance perfectly.

Compare Caff Verona to Gold Coast Blend. While the blends are similar in concept, Gold Coast uses more assertive coffees to achieve a "bigger" taste than Caff Verona's mellower approach offers.

Similar Coffees:
If you like Caff Verona, you might also enjoy Gold Coast Blend and Yukon Blend.

Other flavors that compliment Caff Verona:
Milk, dark chocolate, caramelized sugar

Guatemala Antigua and Decaf Guatemala Antigua
Savor the complexity of Guatemala Antigua. Our coffee buyers love this elegant coffee. With great depth of flavor, a luxurious texture, intriguing cocoa tones and soft nut flavors, it's no wonder.

Did You Know?
*
Nestled among 3 volcanoes, the Antigua region produces the best coffee Guatemala has to offer.
*
Over 25 percent of Guatemalans work in the coffee industry.
*
The horticultural knowledge and passion for great coffee present in this area yield some of the finest Central American coffees.
*
Guatemala is excellent brewed as espresso.
*
Guatemala Antigua lives in the Smooth category because its intricate nature is uncommon for single-origin Latin American coffees.

Tasting Recommendations:
Compare Guatemala to something more complex, like Kenya. Taste the distinctive qualities that make each coffee special.

Discover the complexity of Guatemala by allowing it to cool a bit before sipping so it can linger on your tongue. At first sip it might seem straightforward, but as the coffee cools, you'll grasp its depth and slight sweetness.

Similar Coffees:
If you like Guatemala Antigua, you might also enjoy House Blend and Colombia Nario Supremo.

Other flavors that compliment Guatemala Antigua:
Cocoa, apples, caramel, nuts

Yukon Blend
As unassuming as it is delicious. Yukon Blend combines the dense, full body of Indonesian coffees with the sparkle of Central American coffees. Medium-bodied, mellow and well-rounded, this is a great "next step" coffee after House Blend.

Did You Know?
*
Yukon Blend was created for the captain of a fishing fleet who wanted to keep his crew warm in chilly conditions.
*
The name came from a "name the blend" contest and is obviously more about experience and flavor than it is about the geographic origin of the beans.

Tasting Recommendations:
Compare Yukon Blend with House Blend and Caff Verona to understand how this coffee fits into the lineup of Starbucks blends. Start with House Blend, which is straightforward and simple, then try Yukon Blend. You'll notice how the flavor has increased in depth. This is from the addition of an Indonesian coffee. Next try Caff Verona, which you'll find to be a sweeter, bolder version of Yukon Blend. Finally, try House Blend one more time and notice how light it tastes in this context.

Similar Coffees:
If you like Yukon Blend, you might also enjoy Caff Verona and, when they're in season, Starbucks Christmas Blend or Starbucks Holiday Blend.

Other flavors that compliment Yukon Blend:
Cinnamon, raisins, oatmeal, chocolate

Arabian Mocha Java
A rare, wild and extremely satisfying coffee. It has a perfect balance of the full-bodied spicy tones of Java and the wonderfully exotic flavors and aroma of Arabian Mocha Sanani.

We also offer a Swiss water-processed decaffeinated version, Decaf Mocca Java.

Did You Know?
*
A complex coffee that carries a flavorful tradition, this might be the world's first coffee blend. In the 17th century, the Dutch blended exotic, wine-like Arabian mocha coffee from Yemen with full-bodied, spicy beans from Java.

Tasting Recommendations:
Compare Arabian Mocha Java to Arabian Mocha Sanani. While both coffees have similar flavor characteristics, the Mocha Java is a fuller, more balanced version of the Mocha Sanani, which is more exotic and tantalizingly complex.

Similar Coffees:
If you like Arabian Mocha Java, you might also enjoy Arabian Mocha Sanani and Gold Coast Blend.

Other flavors that compliment Arabian Mocha Java:
Cranberry, orange, chocolate, blueberries

Wow I like coffee as much as anyone but that description was amazing. I never knew Starbucks could describe coffee like that. Anyone ever have coffee in Italy? No matter where you are, even the tiniest dirtiest train station, they will still make amazing espresso. I think it is a law that all coffee in Italy has to be great.

Theres a Starbucks near the school where I work (surprisingly enough) but the best thing about it is not the coffee; its not the aesthetically pleasing staff either and its definitely not paying in excess of 1 for a croissant, but a lone accordion player.

His origin is unknown but he fills the air about Starbucks with a constant and eclectic stream of improvisation; his cascading melodies are endless and virtuosic and never does he venture into stripy jumper, beret and string of onions round neck territory.

His unrelenting accordionship belies his looks, which are those of a 65 year old tramp. I would also venture to say that he was blind as while he plays his head is lost in Stevie Wonder-esque movements, as if drawing down inspiration from the sky itself.

What a cat.

Thanks for all the positive support guys. I know I need to make my own decisions, but I just wanted some feedback. I put in my application and if I get hired I'll get benefits if I work a minimum of 20 hours. I haven't had health insurance in such a long time. But you never know. They might say I'm "overqualified" because of my education and my previous wages...

If the Starbucks in question is near Wimbledon the accordion player is called Geoffrey and he is indeed blind.

As to the matter of coffee: I grew up in Italy for 7 years and I hate the stuff. Love the smell but can't abide the taste. Woe betide anybody who stirs my tea with a spoon that has been in coffee!

Hey, when I was teaching ESL full time in Canada, I used to moonlight at Canada Post at Christmas, and do film work nights and weekends. Whatever you have to do is fine. Gotta love the benefits package, eh?
