Is a local HK pgde qualification recognised in North America, Australia, New Zealand, UK?

I mean could I teach in those countries armed with a local pgde?

Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Hong Kong University

Do you know whether it is a recognised teaching qualification in the Western world, UK, OZ, NZ, Can, USA?

I have recently had this discussion with two collegues and they tell me that a PGDE from HK will be recognised in the UK ...PROVIDED a few hoops are jumped through. THe same hoops that someone with a PGDE from NewZealand would have to jump through in the uK

Now this was new info to me as I had been told previously that it would not be....but Iguess this makes sense that they want to prove that the qualificatioin has merit.
