Does anyone know of a good Turkish teacher giving private lessons in Izmir. I'm looking for someone who can teach both adults and children. I have a friend who is married to a Turk and she will be in Turkey this summer. She is looking for a teacher with experience in teaching and working with native English speakers.
Thanks |

I can't help you I'm afraid, but I was just about to post thread myself asking if anyone knows where I can get hold of some graded readers (or just simple books) for Tukish Learns (ie me). So as not to clog up the board, I'll ask here instead.

Good luck on your quest Bogazicibaby |

Recently Harry the hobbit started on a Turkish language course and found that the Tomer course in Izmir offers a much cheaper package than a teacher giving 1-1 lessons .
The hobbit was introduced into a group of fellow learners and found the whole experience enjoyable so much so that he has purchased a course for 3 months . Harry hopes to be at least able to ask intelligent questions by the end of the year ,such as, why aren't Harry's chips hot? and can we have all our food at the same time ? and why can't you change a 100ytl note do you run a taxi or a donkey etc, etc? |

harry, we MUST introduce you to Ghost. It'd make for a very interesting thread, having two posters referring to themselves in the 3rd person
Personally, I never had time for Tomer. I felt they were far to fixated on grammar rules and not so much on actually communicating. However, that was quite a while back. I just taught myself - much easier and a hell of a lot more satisfying than sitting in class! |
