Does anyone know the name of the Thai restuarant at Koenji Station on the second floor. They have a tuk tuk parked inside the door, it is about 5 or so from the station. I want to make a reservation but I forget the name.
Thanks |

Baanesan - REAL spicy and REAL cheap
If you are tired of all the fake Thai food restaurants in Tokyo and starving for some REAL spicy food Baan Esan will provide you with the satisfaction you are looking for.
On top of that if you are not willing to spend a lot of money, this is the perfect place for you. All the fine Thai dishes you can think of will be found in the menu, including tom-yum-kun soup, various curries, and papaya salad to name but a few.
The menu's have pictures for each item and numbers as well allowing those with even the poorest Japanese ability to be able to "point and eat."
The decor contains many items shipped over from Thailand, and there is even an authenic tuktuk in the entrance. You will find yourself in Thailand even when you go to the bath room.
Cost:1000-3000 yen |

I went and it was great! We were lucky enough to get a table and you were right about the name. I highly recommend it. |

Good to hear they have maintained the quality. I went there the week (or month) it opened back in ... 2001?... and it was very good.
I would also recommend the Okinawan bar that is a stones throw from the station on the same side as the Thai place. Sitting in there soaking up the vibe you find yourself thinking: Now THIS is why I came to Japan!! |
