|
|
I have been offered a job at the new Lanyang campus of Tamkang University. Apparently it is just out of Yilan, North-East Taiwan . I would really appreciate some information about the general area, if anybody knows.
1) Is Yilan a decent city? I've been told it's a nice place.
2) Has anybody been to the new campus at Lanyang? If so, what is it like? I've been told that it is a bit rough. There is precious little on the net.
3) How long does it take to get there from the international airport in Taipei?
Much appreciated for any help.

Thanks twinkletoes. Of course I have already searched google, Dave's and other search engines. Even the Tamkang uni web site has only a single page with very little info, thus this thread. |

If you go to the link I posted for you (the one to the thread on this board) you will find links to a number of forums for teachers in Taiwan. Maybe if you go post your question on all of them you can increase your chances of getting some info.
Happy Hunting! (I know how frustrating it can be!) |

As you can plainly see my last response was about the university, not Yilan/Lanyang. |

My post was in jest. I believe your first response was about not trying to find anything in Yilan.
I bet I could find something on Tamkang. But I won't. |

Oh hell, curiosity got the best of me. Found a blog from a university professor there. It wasn't hard at all.
You can do it! |

(The case of the disappearing post.)
I don't do petty, twinkletoes. If you have found a blog about the Lanyang campus why not share it?
I'm looking for first-hand information from people who have been to the Lanyang campus, or places near it. Thanks for your first post. |

I didn't save it. One of the blogs I posted in the other thread links to it.
I didn't post it because of your condescending tone. I like to help people, but c'mon... "as you can plainly see..."
It's easy as cake to do a search and find what you're looking for. Just google for blog + Lanyang. You'll have something in no time.
Especially if you work for a University, your school is not going to hand you your lesson plans, handouts, games, activities, supplementary materials, articles, etc., on a silver platter. You will be required to come up with these things on your own. Doing internet research will become something you do every day if you want to keep your students happy. I suggest you start honing your skills now. |
