Back to the original topic...

Yes, chola. If you worked for a private company during the last fiscal year and were on the payroll (nomina) then you should receive profit sharing. In fact, if you leave a company mid-year, you should contact them the following May because unless you signed a "renuncia" stipulating you've been paid the PTU, then the company should have a check for you.

I used to get it. Got it all the time. Age does something to it though, so I don't get it as much anymore.

Wait until you're my age! Crying or Very sad

Is Playadelsoul a Texan? If so, I like Texans again. MOST of them totally get it!

However, Playadelsoul did comment 1) that he's only gotten it once a year for 7 years, and 2) that he forgets that it exists. Shocked Even as old as I am, I'm still doing better than he is on both counts. Wink

Actually, I said that I have received it every year, for the last 7 years. My company is good about paying it, as it serves as a tool to motivate employees to work for better results.

As for forgetting it, that can be attributed to age, as well.

BTW, cwc, "it" refers to the original subject of the thread, which was the payment of a percentage of company profits. Thus, the singular "it." Sorry to confuse you. MOD EDIT

playadesole, There were two things that you could have meant. Profit-sharing or aguinaldo. If you dont use a reference, you can never use a pronoun. For example, the jokes about you not getting sex and forgetting about it could never have been made if you had used a reference. Dont worry about me, I can hang with the best H.H. can dish out. BTW, why dont you move into the real world of teaching and out of the bush leagues? Everybody knows language schools, especially your low level place, are for bottom feeders. Could it be that you arent qualified? Sad

Also, your term "singular it" really made my day. Is there a "plural it"?

BTW, I thought I was "comma-happy", but you take the cake. In your second paragraph you attempted an adjective clause. It didnt work.
In your last sentence you threw in a comma just for the sake of it. Nobody writes correctly on here, save Ben, but you shouldnt speak of dumbing it down when you use shoddy grammar. If you are going to correct my grammar or reasoning, do it with proper grammar and reasoning. Those who live in glass houses...

Well...... the observant ones amongst us know that there is no person named "Ben" on this particular forum. Details, details.....I still like "it".

Sam, how observant you are. Rolling Eyes The person only has several thousand posts. Look again. You arent the sharpest knife in the drawer. Look for a waving flag. Wink

Fox, how are you? Send in a report from the wilds of GDL.

I know his name. I was using his moniker. That is the convention. Dont be such a bloody count.

You started this with a post that had no relevance. Everybody else either got the reference or wisely chose to keep their mouth shut. You are a proven troublemaker that is always looking to pick a fight over the smallest thing.

Think before you post.
