Has anyone ever transferred their Iqama from one educational institution to another? If so, how long did it take and were there any problems?

I know two guys who did. One from the IPA to King Saud Uni and the other from the IPA to some unknown outfit. Both times it took the best part of 4 months as far as I'm aware.

4 months? That's bad, I was thinking more in terms of 4 weeks!

I suppose like so much else here, it all depends on how much wasta people have and how much incentive they have to get everything completed. Does anyone know if you have to have your degree certs etc recertified, or is it just a 'simple' matter of your sponsership passing from one employer to another?

Could you give us some clues about the situation there?

Passing from government to private or private to government is almost impossible, as it requires special permission from the Ministry of the Interior. Government to government is possible, though not necessarily quicker than leaving and coming back.

Are there only two teachers at IPA? Otherwise it rather looks like two people on their staff decided to move on... and they could have been in different years.

And that is how rumors start in the Gulf...
